There is a lot you can gather from the men of a community in order to grasp a better judgment of the nature of their prosperity/poverty. Take for instance the black majority; continent aside, mostly use money as a means to procure consumer goods. It is not unusual that the first time a black man gets a big break, he squanders a lot of it on luxury items than invest it. That which defines a typical black individual is what other blacks see on/with him.
I have always been curious of older white friends that I surround myself with, many of these men are millionaires and you would not suspect they have so much. It is safe to say the only rich white people that show off their wealth are white celebrities. For instance there is one I met at the swimming pool back in 2018, upon finding he was a day stocks trader I got closer to him, one time he lost $100000 stocks and he was so stoic about it. If I’d lost $10000 worth of stocks in a market crash, I would not be in a friendly mood. This man drives a old chevy van he’d bought brand new a decade earlier and when asked why he does not drive a merc, he scoffs. “What’s the point of a depreciating asset?”
Finally it hits me, self preservation via wealth is a concept that escapes blacks across the world. The black man is far natural than his white counterparts; in Africa there are fruits bearing trees (edible) everywhere and all arounds the different seasons. Dropping a seed on the wayside carelessly, the seedling grows into a tree bearing fruits, no natural disaster, bountiful rivers channels and streams. Nature so much blessed black africa that there is no need to stash or save for the future.
It is said that “Necessity is the mother of invention”, there was no need to task the brain beyond what is required in Africa, consequently africans may have not have understood the concept of deferring immediate gratification. The white men on the other hand, especially Northern Europeans had to deal with the winter finding food to eat, farming was difficult and so had to invent ways around the icy soil or raiding. Consequently, saving and investing was a matter of survival.
Fast forward to the present day, Black Africa sucks at administration, logistics and government as whole, the concept eludes them. Democracy is more suited for the Caucasian not so much the Negro. Not to judge but as much as most domestic terrorist are Caucasian and greedy(colonisers), African men even as elders only care about getting younger women, smoking and joking and squandering, likely the aboriginal thing to do. When Che Guevara said ” The Negro is indolent and lazy and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward looking, organized and intelligent” he might have sounded a little hostile but there is a lot of truth to that saying.
The worst thing to ever happen to Africa was both the Trans-Saharan and Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The consequence of these events after centuries are yet to be completely played out. No where else is the effect more prevalent than in the United States. Even after the emancipation, civil rights were not afforded African Americans, the KKK could violate AA without consequences, though Europeans immigrants (Ellis Is land) that came after inherently got those rights and were treated better. There is a lot of PTSD affecting AA today, the root of all the problems.
Black women have endured a lot for a long time. Black men could not have possibly defended them and their children from raiders displacing them from africa, abroad. On a different soil, they are continuously being raped by the masters and their children being maltreated and still black men could not do anything. Women are better survivals than men are, while men might regard some female qualities as cowardice, To a woman it is self preservation that is paramount not showing stupid bravery.
Imagine seeing your masters wife being treated very special, you are the servant at her beck and call, while your husband can’t provide the same luxuries, from the gifts of pearls, diamonds and dresses you can only watch in envy as another woman is being showered in opulence/privileges. Perhaps the funnier will be when master’s wife has you come over to apply make ups and also brush her hair while you resent your nappy hair.
Ever wondered why black women always want to be called queens? The Little white girl knows she is daddy’s little princess, born to become a queen. To be a queen you have to be born to a king or be married to him, either way there is no queen without a king, and there is the missing link. Today black women are so ambitious, extremely competitive. They are graduating college more than black men are, becoming professionals. Could it be they are overcompensating? All the years black men have failed to protect and provide due racial profiling.
It is as though what they feel black men have never been able to give them they will work for and gift themselves. Kudos to their tenacity, harriet tubman kind of women. However , they need to be looked out for now more than ever, the joy of knowing a man cares and is capable of taking care of you, reviving the missing femininity, ” I don’t need no man” mentality has to be done with, you are a queen just as much as any woman. Black women are to be reminded of this with more than just words, also with action
It takes mental courage to break mental shackles, and cease from making excuses to absolve oneself from accountability. In the words of Frederick Douglas “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”. There is a lot of therapy needed within the black community and healing is a slow process but can be done with commitment and dedication
